I am an approved provider with the British Columbia Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP). The CVAP provides financial coverage for counselling services to assist individuals in their recovery after being impacted by crime. I am able to direct bill the government when providing services to individuals who have received approval for counselling sessions under the CVAP.
If you, or an immediate family member, have been victimized by violence, or you have witnessed such crimes, you may be eligible for financial assistance to cover the cost of counselling under the CVAP. You can contact VictimLink BC at 1-800-563-0808 for assistance and to determine eligibility for government-funded counselling. Victim service workers can also assist you in applying for funding from the CVAP.
Financial assistance is available even if an offender is not charged and there is no time limit for applications made by victims of sexual offences.
Please refer to the VictimLink BC website for more information.
